This is Softex software all the way, so the Firefox may just keep working, but I don't trust Firefox - they update frequently for my taste and things just stop working too often for my liking. Lock it down for the updates (just in case), if you like.

Install the Mini Fingerprinter into any USB 2.0 (or 3.0) port that is convenient.The installation is likely the same – SimplePass follows the same rules regardless of the browser with which it is associated. There is no reason why it won’t work with Chrome. This software has been tested with Firefox and is supposed to work with Chrome. I enrolled some fingers, tried the windows login, rebooted a few times. Assuming you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8+, it should be practically "load and go". Hold off or just download the software and try it - access code is on the card that comes with the fingerprinter. Once you have the single piece of hardware, the software is downloaded.

You have to buy a $10 fingerprinter (US cost) and use the AuthenTec TrueSuite software. I am about to order more of these to test on a dv9000 and a desktop.Įdits 2 - AuthenTec is gobbled by Apple, the Mini-Fingerprinter is now available from Softex, the people who have brought us HP SimplePass Version 8.x
I have tested this on an HDX18t running Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit.
